Detective Yuna Chapter 2: Life and Death

"Kim Yuna!" a high-pitched voice cried out across the dark night. A woman, dressed simply and wearing spectacles, ran toward Yuna with a notepad and pen. Park Bo Young, Yuna's childhood friend, works as a crime journalist. "Are you trying to find out more about the crime I'm currently handling?" She was called out by Yuna. "Stop acting so distant! "I know you came back to our hometown, and I followed you here," Bo Young remarked. "I won't reveal anything that is still being looked into." "Yuna said."

"Okay, let's talk about our bond. Bo Young said, "It had been so long since we had seen one another. "We only got together two weeks ago." Yuna clarified. I'm working on the criminal journal, which explains that. Come together like old friends! Bo Young spoke with a smile. Where must we go? With a smile, Yuna conceded. Her arm was seized by Bo Young as they walked. We can place an order at our favorite restaurant for your beloved Jiajiangmyeon. They walked along, and Bo Young answered.

Yuna and her crew headed out the following day to learn more about the case of the traffic mishap. Team leader Choi speaks with Mr. Ho, a Chinese immigrant who is the victim's spouse. As he responded to the police queries, he seemed composed and quiet. When they were unable to uncover any evidence that would have implicated Mr. Ho, the investigation was closed.

In front of Mrs. Kim's bakery, Mr. Lee, the lone witness, used to operate a fried chicken shop. The other businesses in the area had already closed, but Mr. Lee felt compelled to stay at his shop due to the heavy rain on that tragic day. He saw a mysterious figure moving around Mrs. Kim's bakery through a window. Though he didn't give it much thought, he dimly remembered that he resembled Mr. Ho, who regularly shops at Mrs. Kim's bakery.

After his business failed and he fled his creditors to launch a fried chicken shop, Mr. Lee was deeply in debt. A few days after the murder case was publicized, Mr. Lee decided not to testify in order to save himself from creditors who might come after him for unpaid debts. Even with the witness's confession, it was still challenging to establish Mr. Ho's guilt for killing Yuna's mother, Mrs Kim. It is impossible to confirm the eyewitness's account from twenty years ago that he saw Mr. Ho acting strangely at the bakery because memories tend to deteriorate with time.

Unwilling to give up, Yuna looked into the history of Mr. Ho and his wife. They learned that Mrs. Ho was three months pregnant when they landed in Korea pretending to be someone else in an effort to start afresh. Mr. Ho is a convicted gambler and drug trafficker in China. He didn't know Mrs. Ho continued to use narcotics during her pregnancy. He thinks his wife gave up the habit while she was expecting. On that terrible day, Mrs. Ho ran away from their rented flat after overdosing on drugs. At the traffic signal at the intersection, she saw Yuna's father turn his car. She hurried to the car and was shoved down, making the decision to end her life right then.

Yuna and her colleagues summoned Mr. Ho to the police station so that he could be questioned. They presented proof of Mrs. Ho's diagnosis of prenatal depression and the fact that his wife passed away in an accident after overdosing on drugs. Mr. Ho silently rejected the facts until Yuna showed him the diary Mrs. Ho kept with his mother-in-law. Yuna and her colleagues carried out a thorough investigation, searching the apartment and speaking with all those involved.

Yuna and her crew received a journal from Mrs. Ho's mother that her daughter kept throughout her life.It described how she met Mr. Ho, her husband, and their drug experiments together.Soon later, she learned that she might have had a child with Down syndrome as a result of her drug use. Mrs. Ho experienced prenatal depression and considered suicide during her pregnancy.

Mr. Ho grieved deeply while holding his wife's journal. Finally, he admitted to killing Mrs. Kim, Yuna's mother. He thought Yuna's father, Mr. Kim, had fled after he knocked down his pregnant wife. As a result of her injuries, his wife passed away. Before the incident, Mr. Ho remembered that he and his wife had a quarrel over his illegal drug use, and he stormed out of the house in a fit of wrath.

When he returned, he found out about his wife's incident and placed the blame on Mr. Kim, Yuna's father. He was angry with Mr. Kim and the Korean legal system because he thought it was a hit-and-run situation. Mr. Ho thought Mr. Kim had received a light sentence when he attempted to get away after knocking down his wife. He just provided substantial recompense to the victim's relatives.

Mr. Ho continued by confessing to his murder and outlining his scheme. I first take my wife's body and money back to China so we may bury her. But after I gambled, I ran out of money. When I returned to Korea half a year later, I was disappointed to see that your family had established a bakery and been leading a happy life. My wife and unborn daughter are eternally gone, yet your father is a killer and his family is content! I then devised a method by becoming friends with your mother and regularly visiting the bakery. I waited for your mother to leave the bakery in the dark alley, knowing that it was your birthday.

Except for the bakery, every store was closed on this rainy night. I am aware that your mother is making you a cake for your birthday. When your mother closed the bakery late, I grabbed her with a knife in the back. She dropped the birthday cake box she was carrying onto the damp floor. I knocked her out and hauled her away in my car.

I first intended to kidnap her and demand that your father pay a ransom. Regretfully, your mother battled in the automobile after being knocked unconscious and woke up. I can't let her live after she saw my face. After kicking her out of the car, I struck her with my car. "She was covered in blood, and I felt like I had my revenge, so I left her body in the deep forest to rot," Mr. Ho continued, grinning menacingly. Unable to control her feelings, Yuna tries to strike him by grabbing his collar. Her emotional outburst is stopped by Leader Choi. "Monster, you will rot in the prison forever!" With tears in her eyes, Yuna screams.

Yuna, dressed in her usual black attire and carrying flowers, visited her parents' grave after the matter was resolved. "Mum, I kept my word to you that I would pursue justice for you, and I have done so." "I know you hated me until you refused to see me even at your deathbed when you died of illness," she continued, looking at her father's tomb. I am aware, though, that you are punishing yourself for your wife's passing. Yuna whispered with a heavy heart. I promise to live a good life and be an excellent investigator. I hope you get some peace. Yuna bowed to her parents and put on her sunglasses before she left.
