Drama Queen's thoughts
This might be the last drama before Jang Geun Suk enlist into the military. It's definitely a must watch drama to Hallyu fans, especially Jang Geun Suk fans. I am usually not interested in period drama, but I decided to watch it for the sake of Jang Geun Suk.
I remembered Jang Geun Suk mainly because of the drama - He is beautiful. However, this time round, he is acting in a more serious role as compared to his pretty boy , idol good looks character that he used to play in other drama. It's nice to see Jang Geun Suk comeback into the Korean drama after many years but it's sad that he might be out of the limelight temporary to serve his country.
Other than Jang Geun Suk, I am interested in the other cast members such as Choi Min-Soo who acted as the king. He is really charismatic and i like his acting skills. He will be convincing as the ruthless and ambitious king. Yoo Jin-Goo who acted in the moon that embrace the sun is part of the main cast too. The main actors look promising for a start. In fact, I think this drama is going to be a male dominated production judging from the poster and trailer.
The script looked good on paper and it depends on how the director execute the story onscreen. Hopefully, the scriptwriter do not disappoint us. I am usually not a big fan of period drama. If the drama managed to get me hooked, it will be worth the time to watch something with that amount of quality.
Anyway, the story sounds a little heavy with all the stuff about history. On top of that, it's also about love, revenge and the plan to overthrow the king. I'm keeping my fingers cross and hope that Daebak and also known as Jackpot or Royal gambler will be a good drama. :)
