YAH, what's wrong with this darn car?! Mun Yeong yelled loudly. Gang Tae assumed control of the driving from Mun Yeong and halted at a village close by. He exited the vehicle, inspected the rear engine of the camping car, and found that the vehicle had malfunctioned. They required time to mend the camping car and allow it to recuperate for a while. This implies that they are unable to leave at the moment and have no choice but to spend the night in the village nearby. Gang Tae carried their bags as they entered the village and paused at the sign reading, "Asan Pear Blossom Field." Mr. Baek, the village leader, joyfully guided them to his home upon learning about their circumstances.
Having lived in the city her entire life, Mun Yeong was astonished as she entered a charming village for the very first time. The people living in this area were friendly and pleasantly surprised to see a young couple arriving in their town. As soon as the news of Ko Mun Yeong's arrival in the village spread rapidly, the couple was greeted with great excitement. Furthermore, it is uncommon for the villagers to see someone dressed as elegantly as Mr. Baek's daughter-in-law, who comes from a prominent family that controls a big shopping complex in Seoul. The villagers whispered, "Have you noticed how all the rich young women dress just as elegantly and extravagantly as Hae-In?" "They look incredibly stunning." The villagers surrounded Ko Mun Yeong, asking for autographs and taking selfies with her.
During the meeting, Mr. Baek introduced his family members, and Mrs. Baek excitedly pointed out, "Gang Tae shi, you look exactly like my second son!" In the family photo, Mr. Baek showed pride, blushing slightly and directing attention to his son, Baek Hyun Woo. Currently, he works as a lawyer at Queen's shopping mall, hardly coming back; meanwhile, you and Author Ko can spend the night in his bedroom. Mr. Baek led them to the room, and Gang Tae expressed gratitude with a bow for their kindness.
"Mun Yeong, hey, are you alright?" Gang Tae worried about Mun Yeong as he observed her quietness in the village. Mun Yeong grinned at Gang Tae, "I'm okay; perhaps I'm still impressed by the villagers and their friendly welcome." Gang Tae grabbed Mun Yeong's hand and told her, "Mun Yeong, look at the darkening sky; let's stay the night here. I understand that you are feeling uneasy. I assure you that we will depart once we can begin our camping trip. Mun Yeong smiled slightly, "I guess this will be a completely new adventure for me." Gang Tae lovingly ran his fingers through Mun Yeong's hair while gazing into her eyes. "Tap," "tap," Mr. Baek tapped on their door and graciously asked the couple to come over for dinner.
During the meal, Mun Yeong felt uncomfortable because it was her first time eating with a group of people she didn't know. The food was incredibly tasty and Mun Yeong quietly sat in the corner, delicately picking at the food on the table. The Baek family greeted them warmly while they poured drinks into the cups in turns. The dinner concluded happily, with everyone in a positive mood. Mrs. Baek asked Mun Yeong to join her in gathering pears on the farm as Gang Tae fixed the camping car early the next morning. Mun Yeong smiled awkwardly at Mrs. Baek and accepted to show her appreciation by assisting at the pear farm.
During Gang Tae's shower, Mun Yeong stayed by herself in the room. Bored, she strolled out onto the balcony, taking in the unfamiliar village landscape for the first time. "Beyond the walls of the castle where I've been imprisoned since birth lies a whole other world." Mun Yeong smiled as she thought to herself about how the residents in this area were welcoming and friendly to unfamiliar individuals like them. A little girl silently stood next to Mun Yeong and lightly tugged on her dress. Upon turning, Mun Yeong noticed a young girl about eight years old with a ponytail who looked up and smiled at her. Mun Yeong crouched down to meet her at eye level and locked eyes with her. "What are you doing here, you little brat?" While holding a book behind her back, the girl eagerly asks, "Can you sign this book for me?" with a beam in her eyes. I am a huge admirer of yours! Mun Yeong grinned and removed the book from her grasp. With great joy, the girl proclaimed, "Finding The Real Face" Mun Yeong carefully took the pen from her hand. "What do you go by?" "Mun Yeong Unnie, My name is Lee Soo Hyun." Mun Yeong wrote the book and gave it back to Soo Hyun. Upon opening the book, she read the following message: "Soo Hyun, may you always find happiness." I appreciate you being a fan of mine.
Watching from a distance, Gang Tae observed them exchanging gentle smiles with wet hair and a towel draped over his shoulders, smiling softly at the sight. Soo Hyun turned her head and noticed Gang Tae. She shyly grinned at Gang Tae and whispered to herself, "Attractive oppa." Mun Yeong looked over and spotted Gang Tae, who flashed them a cheerful grin. Mun Yeong quickly faced Soo Hyun again, appearing a bit irritated, and claimed, "This good-looking oppa is mine!" After hugging Soo Hyun, she got up, turned, and linked arms with Gang Tae. "Can we have a small fan gathering?" With a grin on his face, Gang Tae innocently inquired. "Quit flirting and grinning at girls in that manner!" Mun Yeong spoke with a jealous and possessive tone. Gang Tae erupted in laughter and shook his head. "I have a smile on my face as I look at you." He stated as he embraced Mun Yeong with his arms. I came out searching for you when I noticed you were not in the room. We should hit the hay soon after I finish drying my hair. As they returned to the room, Mun Yeong erupted in laughter. Tonight, the couple embraced each other tightly in bed. Mun Yeong rested her head on Gang Tae's shoulder. I have to admit that my fan has excellent taste, just like me. Gang Tae smiled knowingly as he planted a goodnight kiss on Mun Yeong's lips before they drifted off to sleep together.
"Mun Yeong, oh, please wake up!" Gang Tae softly nudged her shoulder. Mun Yeong had not slept on a comfortable bed in a while. She remained lounging in bed, unwilling to get up. Even though it was enjoyable traveling with Gang Tae in the camping car, there was no adequate mattress for a comfortable sleep. Mun Yeong isn't unhappy; as long as Gang Tae is with her, she will be content wherever they are. "Do you recall that you need to assist Mrs. Baek at the pear farm?" Mun Yeong's eyes widened suddenly in shock. Yes, she recalled committing to assist Mrs. Baek at the pear farm. Mun Yeong quickly rose from her bed and prepared herself to welcome the elderly couple who were already sitting at the dining table. Mun Yeong and Gang Tae exchanged greetings with the elderly couple at the table and shared breakfast with them. Gang Tae accompanied Mr. Baek to the repair shop, as Mun Yeong put on an ahjuma flowery attire and went with Mrs. Baek to the farm. While complaining about her dreadful outfit, Mun Yeong continued to pay close attention to Mrs. Baek's guidance on harvesting pears from the trees. Mun Yeong muttered and used foul language quietly while harvesting pears from the trees in the blazing sun.
After the sun goes down, Gang Tae comes back to find Mun Yeong tired, wearing an ahjuma outfit, and holding a bag of pears. Upon seeing her ahjuma outfit, Gang Tae burst into fits of laughter. Mun Yeung sulked and pushed him on the chest before entering the house with Mrs. Baek. After working all day, they cleaned up and gathered at the dining table in the evening. Mrs. Baek had already sliced the ripe pears and arranged them on the plate. "Let's savor the results of our hard work!" Mrs. Baek cheerfully proclaimed. That evening, they have a goodbye dinner because the couple will leave in their camping car the next morning.
Following the wonderful dinner, Gang Tae was asked to join Mr. and Mrs. Baek for some makgeolli as Mun Yeong was showering in the bathroom. They clinked their makgeolli bowls on the outdoor balcony while enjoying the night skies. "It had been quite a while since anyone visited our village; your arrival has caused some excitement." Because the camping car broke down, we can have you and Mun Yeong as our special guests. Mr. Baek grinned warmly at Gang Tae. Mrs. Baek added, "Unfortunately, Hyun Woo isn't here; I believe he would have gotten along with you and Mun Yeong." Gang Tae grinned and expressed gratitude to the elderly couple for their kind hospitality. I apologize for having Mun Yeong helping me at the pear orchard all day. I simply desired to invest time in getting to know her better. Mrs. Baek is frank in her speech. Gang Tae grinned in understanding at what she said. Despite appearing aloof initially, Mun Yeong reveals her true kindhearted nature once I get to know her better. I appreciate her lack of pretentiousness. I suppose I have become accustomed to her foul language and will feel her absence." Mrs. Baek chuckled. Gang Tae bowed his head with shame as he expressed gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Baek for their kindness towards them, and he apologized on behalf of Mun Yeong. Mrs. Baek clasped his hand in a motherly manner. "It's fine, Gang Tae; we enjoy you and Mun Yeong's company." Our life has become somewhat dull since our kids have become adults. Please feel free to come by and see us anytime you have a moment. Mrs. Baek smiled kindly.
"Moon Gang Tae, what is your current activity?" Mun Yeong strolled to the balcony wearing her nightgown and saw Gang Tae gazing affectionately at his phone with a smile on his face. "Are you concealing from me an image of a woman?" Mun Yeong attempted to grab his phone. Gang Tae playfully dodged her and revealed a photo of Mun Yeong in the floral ahjuma attire. "From where did you acquire that image?" Mun Yeong attempted to grab the phone and erase the unattractive photo. Mrs. Baek captured a spontaneous moment of you at the pear farm. You appear adept at plucking pears from the tree!" Gang Tae playfully remarked. She ran after Gang Tae on the balcony, insisting that he delete the unattractive picture. Crafty fox! Remove the image or I will harm you! Mr. and Mrs. Baek gazed affectionately at the couple, smiling warmly. Mr. Baek grasped his wife's hand and remarked, "Do they not remind you of us when we were a young pair?" Mrs. Baek hit his chest and motioned for him to return to the house with their kettle and bowl. "Come on, we shouldn't intrude on the young couple by being here."
The following day, Gang Tae and Mun Yeong said goodbye to the elderly couple's family, and some villagers showed up to see them off. Mrs. Baek prepared a bag of pears for Mun Yeong to bring on their journey. Mrs. Baek embraced Mun Yeong and expressed, "I desire to have more opportunities to be together with you." If you can find the time, please return and stay longer so we can gather more pears. Mun Yeong awkwardly chuckled, and Mrs. Baek acted as if she didn't notice. They expressed gratitude to the villagers for their hospitality before boarding the camping car. Gang Tae drove the camping car out of the village while they waved goodbye to the villagers.
While in the camping car, Mun Yeong glanced at her phone and smiled upon reading a message. Gang Tae inquired, "What's the reason for your smile?" Gang Tae, feeling curious, sneakily looked at her phone. "Are you purchasing every single pear from the pear farm owned by Mr. and Mrs. Baek for the villagers?!" "Mun Yeong, you are incredibly impressive!" Gang Tae was pleasantly taken aback. The elderly couple recently got a check for one million won from Mun Yeong in an envelope. Seung Jae made the long journey to deliver the check to the couple and thank them on behalf of Mun Yeong. The elderly pair gazed at one another and were taken aback by the thoughtful act.
"I won't forget the picture of me in unflattering ahjuma clothes on your phone for even a second." Mun Yeong spoke with a commanding tone. With an innocent expression, Gang Tae playfully remarked, "You always look stunning in any outfit; however, this is the only time I'll see you dressed like this." Mun Yeong angrily called out, "Crafty fox!" Gang Tae expressed with a hint of sorrow, "It appears that the summer vacation is coming to a close." He grasped Mun Yeong's hand and offered a small, melancholic smile. "I can abduct you once more, and on this occasion, we will have a better time than what we are currently having." Mun Yeong confidently announced with a broad grin. Gang Tae flashed a sweet smile at Mun Yeong, expressing his confidence in the future of their fun times together.
Writer Kim and Sang Tae were occupied with their latest book project at work. "Sang Tae oppa, you assisted writer Ko Mun Yeong with her globally recognized children's book, Finding The Real Face." What led her to discover the inspiration for writing this book? Did she also encounter patients with mental instability? Hey Sang Tae, why are you not responding to me? Sang Tae kept drawing his illustrations diligently, without glancing at her. He stated with certainty, "She is my younger sister." Kim stopped writing and observed Sang Tae's facial expressions. She lifted one eyebrow and smiled to herself. "If I discover any scandalous secrets about the well-known and accomplished Ko Mun Yeong, I will expose them and make sure she loses her spot at the top of the children's storybook ranking list." Kim, the author, had a thought in her mind.
Upcoming chapter: What fate lies ahead for the collaboration between Sang Tae and Writer Kim? Where are Gang Tae and Moon Yeong headed? Will they come back to Seongjin city?
