The hit drama Queen of Tears is scheduled to air special episodes over the Lunar New Year holidays from January 25 to January 28, 2025, in honour of the greatest rating for a TVN drama. This drama will once again feature the beloved cast members. The drama was eagerly anticipated by Queen of Tears' ardent admirers on the TVN channel.

It's interesting to note that before the special episode aired, a group of fans known as Soowon Shippers had been harassing Kim Soo Hyun on his Bubble app. When the fan called for Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun to get married in real life, as they did in Queen of Tears, they went too far. After being silent for six months, Kim Soo Hyun decided to speak up and tell the audience that Queen of Tears is only a drama.
Numerous naive admirers posted comments on social networking sites, claiming that Kim Soo Hyun is merely promoting the Queen of Tears special episode and that they are hoping Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun will one day start dating. The fact that Kim Soo Hyun did not think of Kim Ji Won as a possible wife devastated yet another group of admirers. Fans had nothing to fantasise about in spite of all the hoopla and money spent on the artists and their agency.

I believe that supporting a single star is always preferable to attempting to act as a matchmaker and dictating what the celebs must do in real life. We can always praise the celebs if they decide to have an open relationship and disclose it through their agencies. However, when their beloved actor's name is constantly linked to another artist, it becomes bothersome, especially for people who wish to support the specific artist. When fans are unable to concentrate on supporting only the artists they enjoy, it causes a lot of distractions.
It is completely inappropriate for this larger fanbase to control and disparage a smaller fandom in an attempt to support their position and convince others that their viewpoints are accurate. In order to convince others that their irrational views are accurate, they look for methods to support their claims. I think it's acceptable to ship for an on-screen pair as long as you don't go too far. For many who might find everything overly hyped, it became unbearable.
I had shared my opinions about on-screen couples in my last piece. Notably, these actors and actresses are merely doing their roles in the show. You might wonder why Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun waited six months to make it clear that they were not dating. It was undoubtedly related to maintaining the drama's hype and making more money off of the naive audience. In order to get fans to spend money on their merchandise, fan meet, and pop-up store, they would not provide any clarification.

In the business world, superstars are merely a source of revenue for these corporations. The fans may wish to concentrate on Kim Soo Hyun's upcoming project, Knock Off, now that 2024 is over. Because they were not promised anything by the on-screen couple, fans who have invested time and money in them cannot complain. There had always been a connection between Kim Soo Hyun and his female protagonist. He had also been incredibly kind to all of his co-stars and leading women.
This is not the first time that Kim Soo Hyun has been linked to a romantic scandal. Money considerations are the only reason they decided to clarify later. Instead of bothering the celebs with the shipping, I think we should give them some space. They are under no duty to fulfil the fans' dreams.
