Set during the Joseon Dynasty, Ryung appears to be a useless gangster in the marketplace by day, but in actuality is a chivalrous robber who steals from corrupt government officials to give to the poor at night.After each robbery he leaves behind a wooden branch from a plum tree at the site of the robbery to take responsibility for the robbery; the poor only know him as Iljimae. Filled with intrigue, romance, and polictal drama, this show is a must watch.
Apparently Iljimae II (The Return of Iljimae) is already out, can't wait to watch it! :)
