Cai Jin Lai is a guy who lives his life in a facade, letting the world believe he's a wealthy young gentlemen, when in fact he's a lazy, procrastinating pauper who is in debt.Whereas Shan Mei is a kind, filial and very hard-working bread winner of her family. She has a boyfriend, whom she helped support financially in America. In hopes of finally getting married, Shan Mei decides to go to him, despite her parent obejction; only to discover his infidelity. As she has basically spent all her savings and unwilling to face her family, she returns to Taiwan secretly.
When she returns she meets Cai Jin Lai and they come to an agreement, and even end up sharing an old broken-down house together.
