"Love Sick" Chinese Movie Premeire and Fanmeeting

Source: Longhoo News

The idol movie “Love Sick”, which stars Chen Bolin and Ariel Lin will be aired in Nanjing on 14 Oct 2011. The day before the movie was aired (Oct. 13), the film’s director, Chen Bolin and Ariel Lin toured all big theaters in Nanjing. The star appeal of popular idols, Ariel and Bolin was evident as every fan meeting was packed. 30 lucky fans were invited to a free showing of the movie at  Longjiang international cinema, the last stop in the film's group Nanjing tour. The 30 lucky fans has the opportunity to also get close to the stars.

Although it was raining heavily (on 13 Oct), turning Nanjing's atmosphere cold and damp, the fans enthusiasm was not to be dampened. The venue was not empty nor deserted as expected due to the weather, instead all of the seats were occupied, with even the two sides of the theater being filled with people.

Throughout the movie, which had a duration of 91 minutes, the audiences was laughing throughout the movie for at least 50 minutes. In the movie, Bolin plays a young and handsome doctor who is has a  good heart. While Ariel is Liang Ruoqing, a broken-hearted, girl who is slightly neurotic, it seems like Ariel’s strange character added color to the movie.

When the show ended, the cast was invited by the host to go on stage, but Ariel seemed to have disappeared. She emerged a few minutes later and explained her absence. "I sneaked in to watch the last 25 minutes of the movies with the audience, and ended up ruining my makeup from crying. I had to touch up the ruined makeup. I hope everyone would forgive me."

In the Q & A session that followed, the audience's excitement was even higher. When asked about his favorite scene in the movie, Bolin said: “It was towards the end of the movie, when Ariel rushed to the airport to catch me. But after going through all those difficulties, she was speechless when she finally saw me.” In that scene, just as Bolin's character was waiting for Ariel's character to confess her feelings, another female doctor told him to hurry up as everyone’s waiting for them to board. Without turning around at all, Bolin's character shouted: “Than let them wait!” Bolin laughed and said he liked this scene the most and added, “If we had to act that scene out again, I would have picked her up in my arms and we would have boarded the plane together.”

During the fan meeting, one very loyal Bolin fan got the chance to ask a question, and receive a poster. She said she likes Bolin very much. When the fan meeting concluded, she was still very excited and expressed her thanks again to Longhoo for giving her this opportunity to speak to Bolin.

Ariel Lin to take hiatus from TV dramas

The Taiwanese actress had taken to her blog to clear up untrue rumours about her boyfriend. Annoyed at the media -- who created untrue reports on her boyfriend -- Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin took to her blog to clear up the rumours.

In her blog entry, Ariel expressed her unhappiness at the media's choice of words when reporting on her latest drama "In Time with You". She noted that their reports undermined the sacrifices made by the production team. The actress added that she hoped future reports would be more truthful.

Ariel also admitted that her health was not how it used to be, ever since undergoing a brain cyst surgery three years ago. Her body could no longer take the stress of working on dramas. In the last 10 years, Ariel had been working 12 to 18 hours per day, which left her little time for her family. The actress announced that movies would become her career focus from now on.

Furthermore, Ariel, who had always been tight-lipped when it came to her love life, also opened up for the first time about her boyfriend. "It's no secret that I'm in a relationship. However, we chose to be private about it. He's never given me any trouble or has me worry about finances. He's never been married and he doesn't have a child. Of all the men I've met, he's definitely one of the best," Ariel wrote.

The actress's blog entry received tremendous support from her friends, who hoped that she could rest properly and enjoy her life.

Donghae & Siwon back out of Extravagant Challenge because of Ariel?

Written by: Zahra on 2/23/2011 @ CpopAccess.com

Extravagant Challenge hasn't even had the chance to recuperate from it's three-year-delay before being hit with more problems. Since Ariel Lin announced that she was dropping Extravagant Challenge for another GTV series, 我可能不會愛你 (roughly I Might Not Fall In Love With You,) fans have been bombarding the station with threats saying that they will boycott both series if Ariel is not the lead of Extravagant. Not only that, it is also rumored that Super Junior's Donghae and Siwon might have also dropped out due to the female lead being changed. GTV current statement is that everything out there are still rumors and they will be making an official announcement about the cast at the end of the month as the series can no longer be postponed due to copyright restrictions.

Ariel Lin casts aside Golden Bell, challenges Golden Horse again with her return to the big screen

Golden Bell Queen Ariel Lin is not worried about the Golden Bell curse. Seven years after her 2003 movie, Love Me If You Can, Golden Horse Best Actress nomination, she is once again filming a movie, Love Sick (temporary title). She will be partnering with her shi-di (company junior), Chen Bolin (Wilson Chen), acting as sweethearts.

After venturing and competing in the music industry, Ariel was worried that her acting skills might get rusty and carried a book on acting with her, filling the scripts [I guess this means the acting book contains a lot of scripts/plays] with her writing [probably her side notes/comments], hoping to return and re-discover the feeling of filming a movie, and once again challenging the Golden Horse award.

Ariel's acting skills have received affirmation, leaving a deep impression on many directors. As production of the idol dramas, Extravagant Challenge and Coffee Prince Taipei, had been stalled because of script and casting problems, her management company said (Ariel) had some free time until next year so she decided to accept the movie offer. The storyline is still very confidential.

Sources said the movie will be helmed by a Hollywood-based Chinese-American director who specializes in shooting short films and commercials. Chinese investors have gone all the way to Taiwan to sincerely invite her [to participate in the movie]. Moreover, there are quite a few foreign production team members, which made Ariel feel that it’s all going to be very fresh [i.e., working with this new team] and finally agree [to join the film]. She hopes to create new sparks with the new team. Her new partner, Chen Bolin, will play a Prince Charming. This will be the first time that the two will play lovers on the big screen.

Love Sick will begin shooting at the beginning of December. In past years, Ariel had always celebrated her birthday with fans, but this year, she chose to celebrate it with her mom and younger brother; the family took the time to take a trip to Taipei Zoo to enjoy simple, every day happiness. When she was filming a commercial in Shanghai, Ariel treated her manager and colleagues to a big sluice crab feast, replenishing their strength before work – very considerate of her.

Taiwan actress Ariel Lin admits she is currently dating

Source : Channel News Asia

TAIPEI : While celebrities tend to keep their love lives a secret, Taiwan singer-actress Ariel Lin has revealed to the press that she is seeing someone, reported Chinese media.

"I am a girl who cannot do without relationships. In my heart, there is already a 'him'," said Lin during an appearance at a press conference as the ambassador for the Taiwan Organ Registry and Sharing Center.

When asked about her mystery boyfriend, the sweet-looking 27-year-old refused to give details though she did not deny that he is a big help to her acting and singing career.

Besides shattering the dreams of her male admirers the world over, during the press conference, Lin also proudly showed off her organ donor card which she received in March last year.

"This way of passing on your love for others is often more meaningful than just [donating] money," said Lin of her choice to pledge her organs. "This is something I believe in and it is something I have acted upon."

According to Lin, she was visiting the hospital for a follow-up medical check-up last year after an operation to remove a 2-cm egg-shaped cyst in her brain, when she saw a notice about organ donation.

After a short discussion with her mother, both of them decided to become donors and signed up the next day.

Lin, who was first discovered on the long-running Taiwan variety show "Guess, Guess, Guess", shot to fame after starring in the 2005 idol drama "It Started with a Kiss" with Joe Cheng.

She then went on to win a Golden Bell Award for Best Actress Award in 2008 for her performance in the sequel "They Kiss Again".

Skip Beat!/Extravagant Challenge To Commence Filming in January; Ariel Lin Determinedly Follows Jerry Yan

News Source: CTW (magazine), tammiest @ http://asianfanatics.net/forum/

It was just last November that Jerry Yan ChengXu and Ariel Lin YiChen traveled to Japan to attend the opening press conference for idol drama 華麗的挑戰/Extravagant Challenge; filming stalled soon afterward because of some complications with the Japanese sponsors. In September, rumors began surfacing that the drama would commence filming again; however, Jerry had already committed to other work, and Wu Zun was rumored to have taken his place. A few days ago, though, rumors came up again—this time, indicating that filming was scheduled to commence at the end of January. Wu Zun has already accepted a Mainland drama; furthermore, the Japanese market loves Jerry, and, in the end, we’re back at a Jerry-Ariel match.

Jerry and Wu Zun—just who will play Extravagant Challenge’s leading man, Ren Tsuruga? After a year of back-and-forth, “You leave, and I’ll pick up,” (supposedly) affirmative news has finally come out: the drama is scheduled to commence filming in January, and the rumors that Jerry was replaced by Wu Zun—which started circulating in September—have been put to rest: the role of Ren has come back, full-circle, to Jerry.

Extravagant Challenge is to be adapted from popular Japanese manga Skip Beat! In early 2008, GTV—a station which specializes in manga adaptations—announced that it would be collaborating with the Japanese on the project at a joint opening press conference. Almost immediately, however, the production was besieged by difficulties: the director of the drama switched from Winnie Qu YouNing to Niu ChengZe; the male lead changed from Jerry Yan to Wu Zun—in fact, the only thing that has never been changed is the female lead: Ariel Lin.

Ariel Lin's Schedule Currently Free

The director and the male lead have changed and changed again; the drama's been delayed for a year, but, in the end, nothing's changed. The most recent news is that Extravagant Challenge will commence filming in January; the female lead is still Ariel Lin, and the male lead is still Japanese fan favorite Jerry Yan.

The pair went to Japan early last year for the opening press conference; there were quite a number of hints as to their re-teaming this year. In December, Ariel will be focusing all her attention on a stage play in Hong Kong, 男人與女人之戰爭與和平/Men and Women Are Just Like War and Peace. All she has scheduled in January are five commercials and/or advertisements in the Mainland and Taiwan. Her schedule looks conveniently free for filming Extravagant Challenge!

Ariel's manager, 周美豫 Chou MeiYu, had this to say: "Skip Beat! is a wonderful manga; I'm sure it would also be wonderful if it were adapted into a drama. We were originally very much looking forward to this drama; however, we've yet to receive notice of a filming commencement, so we can't confirm anything [with you]."

She revealed that Ariel is scheduled to appear in a stage play in Singapore in February; she is also in talks with Mainland producers for another drama. There have even been, most recently, several movie scripts and production companies, all seeking Ariel. If, then, Extravagant Challenge is really to commence filming in January, these other opportunities will naturally also be on Ariel's mind and in her consideration.

The Japanese Only Want Jerry Yan

There were originally rumors that the male lead had been switched to Wu Zun. He's scheduled, however, to begin filming a Mainland drama in March, and he is also planning to break into both the Mainland and the Korean market. The chances of his taking on Extravagant Challenge as well are, thus, quite low.

In actuality, however, Extravagant Challenge has always had Jerry's name attached to it. He and Ariel created quite a buzz when they appeared at the opening press conference in Tokyo last year. Although there were some financial/capital problems on the Japanese side which temporarily halted filming, the Japanese sponsors have always had their hearts set on Jerry.

Most importantly, Jerry's name was a huge selling point for the Japanese; the company was able to raise money based largely on his involvement in the project. Thus, if GTV is really to commence filming, the male lead couldn't be anyone but Jerry! Jerry's manager, Fanny, didn't deny either the revival of filming or Jerry's participation: "Jerry is currently in talks for a lot of various different projects. Everything is still under wraps; we can't reveal anything."

GTV's Vice Director of Planning, 蔡妃喬 Tsai FeiQiao, said, "There are still some copyright issues we're ironing out for Extravagant Challenge, and so a filming commencement is not actually on the schedule yet. Once everything's finalized and we're sure we're going to begin filming again, we'll definitely let everyone know."
