Dateless Rainie Yang mulls Valentine's Day matchmaking session

HONG KONG: Taiwan singer-actress Rainie Yang revealed during a store opening event in Hong Kong on Wednesday that she may wind up spending Valentine's Day at a matchmaking session organised by her friends, reported Hong Kong media.

"My friends have arranged for a dinner date [on Valentine's Day], but they refuse to tell me who is going to show up when I asked them. It feels as though they really want to set me up with someone, but I am not in a hurry [to find a boyfriend] and I prefer to make friends naturally," said Yang, who added that she is still considering whether or not to go.

"It is not very nice to turn down such a sincere gesture from your friends."Yang said this isn't the first time her friends have tried to set her up with a guy. "I tried a similar matchmaking event and went to a karaoke outlet. I was not used to it at the time. My friends are too worried about my happiness. It is better to decide these things (who to date) for yourself," said the 27-year-old star.

When asked about the recent rumours which claimed that she is considering getting back together with her ex-boyfriend Roy Chiu, Yang replied that there is no truth to them at all. "That is a misunderstanding, a story the newspapers created. Basically, we have no contact with each other," said Yang, "We are just friends who encourage one another. We have lost contact with one another after working together many, many years ago."

Wilber shocked, called Rainie and cried

Written by: imeisee @ CpopAccess.com

Last night Wilber Pan performed in Zhengzhou, China and watched the Annual Golden Bell Awards via the internet where it was 10 seconds slower than Taiwan's broadcast. When he confirmed that he won, he felt dizzy, from happy to crying.

He received more than 300 congratulatory text message and 700 message through his Weibo. His entertainment friends Jolin, Show Luo, Elva, also congratulated him.

Netizens described the winning of Wilber as the most surprised, the most dumbfounded, the most upsetting award of the night, and some even said “He felt he don’t stand a chance therefore missed the ceremony," Wilber explained that he already agreed to attend the event in China and could not cancel therefore he was not able to attend the ceremony, and it is not what most think.

Wilber immediately called his father to share the happiness the former felt, he also personally call the two most important women in his drama career, Zhang Rong Rong and Rainie Yang, who were also touched and cried. When Rainie received a phone call from Wilber, he was in his serious tone and Rainie was shocked because he is different from the usual Wilber, who loves to joke around. Wilber said Rainie gave him a lot of tips when they were shooting for “Miss No Good”.

Wilber is very grateful to the recognition of the judges, but also felt sorry for the other finalists. He also admitted that the pressure will be greater in future, and hope that people will give him a chance to prove that he deserved the award.

Rainie Yang & Joseph Chang Leads of 'Fated to Love You' Spinoff

Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang are confirmed to be the leads of the spinoff of "Fated to Love You"---<醉後決定愛上你>! [rough translation: Decide to Love You After Drunken]

Recent idol dramas have not been doing well in terms of ratings compared to the past when average ratings were between 2s and 4s. In 2008, a low-profile idol drama called "Fated to Love You" made a history in Taiwanese idol dramas, getting ratings as high as 14 points once. A sequel/spin off of this drama was discussed last year in hopes to bring back good ratings and the crew wanted original leads from the drama, Ethan Ruan and Joe Chen, to star as a couple again.

However, perhaps due to schedule conflict, new leads were cast and it is officially going to be Rainie and Joseph. It is Rainie's first drama after she crowned Golden Bell's Best Actress last year. As for Joseph, he appears less in idol drama in recent years and focuses in the film industry. The crew hopes it would be a fresh pair to the audience.

Recently got a new hair duo, Rainie attended to a press conference of the drama yesterday and draw with a Taiwanese artist. Since the original drama has some hot bed scenes, the same thing is expected in this spin off. The actress hinted the level of bed scenes in this drama: "Triangle means movements on our scripts, and there is a page that is full of triangles! The only word on the page is 'explore'!"

Outsiders have thought this new drama would be the sequel of "Fated," but in fact it has a brand new plot. They even cooperate with artists from Taiwan's cultural and creative industry, making this idol drama more cultural and unique.

"Cute Princess" Rainie Yang successfully controlled the stage at the Taipei Arena last Saturday, showing her flexibility and ballet skills that awed her fans. Finally having achieved her dream, she was extremely happy, and her sugar high lasted her through the next week after the concert, causing her to lose sleep almost every night. Every time she closed her eyes, she would hear the beating of her heart, "and I could see the concert over and over again".

Shields her emotions onstage, feels elated inside
After a full 10 years, Rainie completed her fantasy of "A Wild Fantasy Concert" by rehearsing nonstop, ignoring rolled ankle injuries, and constant nightmares due to intense pressure. Before her opening, she also suffered from a heavy flu, and her condition was all over the place. It wasn't until her concert ended that she finally believed that her beautiful dream had finally come true, and could finally rest at home, but she couldn't even fall asleep! "Because I'm just too excited! I close my eyes and all I can see is the concert." She said that she was trying to hide her emotions while onstage, because she didn't want her fans to see her cry, but inside she had already cried many tears of joy.

Takes up role of special guest at Xiao Zhu's Hong Kong concert
However, after concentrating on her own concert, Rainie now has to work on her project as Xiao Zhu's special guest at his Hong Kong concert, and rehearse for her "Wild Fantasy Singing Selections" autograph and singing concert in May. Will she be sleepless as the special guest for Xiao Zhu's concert? She said, "Actually, no, because we understand each other completely." She remained tight-lipped about the program, and asked fans to wait and see.

Rainie Yang plays with fog; burns $3million in 2 minutes

Source: UDN
Translation: Sarah @ http://asianfanatics.net

Rainie Yang is about to step onto the Taipei Arena stage for the first time! The concert organisers have been racking their heads thinking of the best show-opener, and have decided to bring in 14 'fog machines' specially from overseas, to create a 3D romantic & fantasy feeling. Just the 2-minute opening scene alone is estimated to cost $3million. Rainie commented: “Wow! It’s like when we used to blow bubbles when we were little; it’s like a Western-version fairy coming down to Earth!”

Rainie’s concert has been given the name ‘Wild Fantasy’ to reflect her whimsical personality. Creative new ideas have gone into both the design of the costumes and the stage; particularly a never-seen-before white ‘balloon’ dress where 680 balloons have been assembled together into an evening gown. She will enter the stage riding on a ‘unicorn’ and will fly from the air towards the 120cm high "rock area" on the stage to have close interaction with her fans. Isn’t she afraid that fans will stick out their ‘pervy’ hands? Rainie laughed: “I’m just afraid my mood will be too HIGH, and I’ll be too busy playing with all the fog!”

Finishes Filming; Show Luo and Rainie Yang Not Looking Good

Source: China Times
Translation: endlessjoy @ Asianfanatics.net

Show Luo and Rainie Yang kisses out ratings; in just 1.5 hours, they kissed 4 times, allowing the ratings for CTS to increase. However, when finishing the very last scene in Kaohsiung and celebrating Director Lin He Lung’s birthday, they did not look too happy. It’s because they were filming and preparing for their new albums at the same time; in the end, in just 3 days, they finished filming 4 episodes. Everyday they only slept for 3 hours; so tired that they were unable to even smile.

In , the mushroom head, under-bite Da Lang who Show acted out is very popular, but for this character, he has to wear the wig and protrude his jaw for a very long time; so long that it caused his head skin to have inflammation and his jaw to be in pain. Though, the toughest and most painful part should be that this drama started filming in the summer and finishes in the winter, but the storyline is from the winter to the summer. The longer they filmed, the more painful it was. Show had to wear thick winter clothing in the summer time, and then he had to jump into water in the cold winter. He joked that towards the end when he sees the script, he will shiver first. Fortunately, the drama finally finished filming.

The story of the drama went into a turn recently. Rainie went from a mean, violent girl to a sweet radio DJ. While, Show changed from a dorky nerd (Da Lang) into a handsome guy (Xue Hai). All the fans were saying, “Show becoming handsome will make the ratings go up even more.”

Miss No Good

Jiang Xiao Hua is a jewelry store owner with no sense of style and quirky personality. The only award she has ever won was for telling the best jokes in primary school.

When her prince charming Jia Si Le comes back from Japan, wishing to marry her, she blackmails Tang Men, a poison-tongue style guru, into helping her become a true lady. And the adventure begins....

This drama series is packed with hilarious moments, once you get over the high pitched voice of Jiang Ziao Hua that is. Other than that it is definitely worth a try.
