Apple In Your Eye (妹妹)Episode 4

Summary

An animation of the young Zhou Ji Wei and Dai Yao Qi at the secret place. Dai Yao Qi wanted to see the world differently . He mentioned to Zhou Ji Wei that he is looking for another dimension to escape. Zhou Ji Wei tried to imitate him but failed. Back to the present, Zhou Ji Wei parents know about her situation. She was reprimanded for being foolish enough to purchase those biscuits.

On the way back to Taipei on the train, Dai Yao Qi was occupied with his game boy. He asked Zhou Ji Wei to continue the game while he go to the washroom. However, when he comes back, Zhou Ji Wei had already lost the game. In order to divert the attention,  Zhou Ji Wei suggest to play truth or dare.

Dai Yao Qi started by asking Zhou Ji Wei why did she lied about the letters. She replied honestly that she like him. Dai Yao Qi looked at her with disbelieving eyes and ordered her to crawl on the floor. Zhou Ji Wei thought back at the past, how much hardship she went through in order to meet Dai Yao Qi. She wondered is it all worth it? She crawled embarrassedly on the floor while the other passengers laughed at her. However, there is something weird about Dai Yao Qi expression.

Fang Shao Min wanted to go for a short trip with Dai Yao Qi. However, Dai Yao Qi is not keen on this idea. He suggested to visit some popular places in Taiwan and to try the famous foods at the market. He asked Zhou Ji Wei to be the "third wheel" and join them for this trip.

Zhou Ji Wei reluctantly joined them. She was fuming with jealousy while looking at the couple intimacy.  It was weird that everything that they ate was what Zhou Ji Wei wanted to try. It seems like Dai Yao Qi was carrying out what he had promised her. Zhou Ji Wei accidentally blunted the secret out while eating, to the dismay of Fang Shao Min.

At home, she questioned Dai Yao Qi about this and she demanded to know his first girlfriend. Dai Yao Qi avoided answering this question. Zhang Shao Min was disappointed and she left the house. Alone, Dai Yao Qi played his game boy while the image of his mother appeared in his mind. The next day, Zhang Shao Min demanded an explanation about Zhou Ji Wei relationship with Dai Yao Qi. The latter assured her that their relationship is nothing more than siblings and Fang Shao Qi is his first love.

However, Fang Shao Qi revealed to her that she heard from Dai Yao Qi friend that he had a girlfriend before they dated. Both of them were curious about this first girlfriend. After talking to her close friend, Fang Shao Min decided to reconciled with Dai Yao Qi.

Zhou Ji Wei decided to return to her hometown since nothing works out for her. Before she leave, she pays a visit to the elderly house. At the house, she met her benefactor who happens to be their grandson. They had a short conversation and the man insisted to send her off to show his gratitude. However, due to the numerous "memories things" in her bag, everything dropped out. The gentleman brought her a new bag to stuff all the memories. At the coffee house, they introduced their name. The gentleman name is Yuan Fang.

At home, Zhou Ji Wei accidentally realized a secret that her mother had hide from her all these years. Dai Yao Wei had purchased a pair of sports shoes for his first girlfriend many years ago while still studying in high school. She suspected that he had brought the shoes for her. However, due to her mother objection, they were seperated.

Zhou Ji Wei mother admitted to being judemental to Dai Yao Qi and she did everything to protect them. Zhou Ji Wei refused to listen and dashed out of the house. A flashback to the past with the use of animation showed us that Dai Yao Qi hurt his leg and Zhou Ji Wei visited him. At the secret hideout, Zhou Ji Wei mentioned to Dai Yao Qi about the sports shoes that she desire. However, Dai Yao Qi did not give any response. After that there was another scene when Dai Yao Qi chased away Zhou Ji Wei secret admirer.

My thoughts

I like the side story of Zhou family, Dai Yao Qi grandmother, the elderly couple , the workers at Dai Yao Qi eatery shop and Fang Shao Min close friend. They were all interlink into this story. The way the scriptwriter blended in family ties and friendship in the storyline was marvelous.

There are times when we thought that we knew everything but the actual fact we don't. This episode talks about what we assumed from the surface of things. It was obvious that Dai Yao Qi tried to conceal his feelings for Zhou Ji Wei. He showed signs of having soft spots for Zhou Ji Wei. We can't blame Fang Shao Min for being cautious or paranoid about Zhou Ji Wei presence.

Zhou Ji Wei is about to find out Dai Yao Qi hidden feelings for her. Actually, I think Zhou Ji Wei is being stubborn about love. She is contradictive as in wanting to prove that Dai Yao Qi love her before and insisting to find out despite knowing about Fang Shao Min.

I can't help but to pity the supporting cast since they will eventually be sacrifice when Zhou Ji Wei and Dai Yao Qi realized that they need each other. There is nobody that I particularly hated but Zhou Ji Wei still came across as the third party in someone else relationship. She is digging out the past just to state a point that they do love each other.

We all know that Dai Yao Qi love Zhou Ji Wei and perhaps Fang Shao Min is just a subsitute? After watching this episode I am seriously suspicious of Dai Yao Qi love. He could be hiding many things in his heart and only time will reveal all these secrets.

Yuan Fang and Zhou Ji Wei so coincidentally met again. It's so fated that they meet each other a couple of times till it is unrealistic. However, come to think of that a novel is mostly plain imagination. Therefore, this type of coincident may occur in a drama script but it does not always reflects on real life. Anyway, I look forward to their development which will further complicate this messy relationships.

Good Doctor Episode 4

Afterthought

Oh dear, Shi-on accidentally hurt the children in the room. Although it was unintentional, the children parents will be extremely angry with him. Although, i am sure things will turn out to be fine eventually, this incident will definitely affect Shi-on. On the side note, I can't help but notice that Shi-on is adorably cute when he advice the little boy to count in English to fall asleep - one sheep...

I love the interaction between Yeon Seo and Shi-on as usual. Shi-on and Yeon Seo are alike in the way that they will risk all cost to save a patient life. Shi-on is programme inside his brain to save the patient no matter what and Yeon Seo cannot turn a patient away. In the end both of them broke the rules and went ahead with the surgery.

The other couple I ship is In Hye sister and Jin-Wook who looks compatible. Yeon Seo first attempt to save the little girl was met with obstacles. It was a tragic for the little girl who was refused by all the hospital. I can see in this drama, the team is committed and professional in the way they work. I wondered in real life, is there such a thing?

Lastly, I don't understand why Do-Han love Chae-Kyung. I was mad at her for switching off his handphone. Chae Kyung gave me a bad impression, like a spoilt brat sort of way. She appears to be self-centered and refuse to admit her mistakes. Hopefully, she will change for the better in the next few episodes.

May Queen Episode 5

Summary:

Hae Joo tearfully said that she already knew that she was not the daughter of her mother, therefore she tried her best to please her. She asked her father to tell her who is her biological mother. Startled by her, Hae Joo father insisted that she is her biological mother. However, Hae Joo intuition tells her otherwise, as she recounts how she was treated differently from her siblings. Furthermore, other people mentioned that she look different from her mum. In response to that, Hae Joo Father asked, "you and i look different, does it mean that you are not my daughter?" Hae Joo nodded her head and accepted that reasoning. Tears flows from Hae Joo face as her father gave her a hug and comforted her.

While Geum Hee was keeping watch over In Hwa in the hospital, Butler Park and Chang Hee went back home. II Moon saw them and hit Chang Hee as he blamed him for his sister accident. The next day morning, Hae Joo went to her favorite place, a beautiful view of the boats at the shipyard. Chang Hee happened to be there and Hae Joo noticed the bruise on his mouth, but Chang Hee brushed off that he fell down. They sat down and had a conversation. Hae Joo asked,"Chang Hee oppa, where is your mother?" Chang Hee revealed that her mother had abandoned him and his father when he was very young and he can't remember her face.

Hae Joo share the same sentiment as him as she revealed that her mother is not her biological mother. Chang Hee immediately asked,"Did she abused you?" Hae Joo immediately denied but confessed that she did tried her best to gained her mother favour. Hae Joo shared that she was worried that her biological mother will find her one day and she had to part with her father. They made a pact and promised to keep it as a secret. Chang Hee commented tha Hae Joo hand is so warm. In return, Hae Joo asked, "oppa, why is your hand so cold?" Chang Hee replied,"because i don't have a warm heart." Hae Joo shrugged off that answer and mentioned that her father has cold hands too but his heart is like silky road, oppa is like that too.

Hae Joo visited In Hwa at the hospital and was relieved that In Hwa woke up. The first thing she mentioned to her mother is, "i want to eat pizza." Il Moon met Hae Joo outside the ward and blamed her for the accident and called her a beggar. Do yeong and Geum Hee probit In Hwa from seeing Hae Joo and Do yeong even wanted to make Hae Joo dad pay for the yacht. In Hwa immediately confessed that she is the one that wanted the drive the boat to show off and she started the boat, therefore Hae Joo had no choice but to drive the boat. Hae Joo also saved her life after she drank the ocean water.

Hae Joo surprisingly found some baked potatoes in her room left by her mother and ate it happily. Bong Hee and Jeong Woo were investigating the pollution problems at the pear orchard. When they were on the way home, they met Hae Joo. Not knowing that they were uncle and niece, Jeong Woo and Hae Joo gets along very well. Bong Hee chides Jeong Woo not to hang around with little girls and that he should go out and look for ladies instead. Hae Joo retaliated that she is also a lady and she called Bong Hee an old hen. Bong Hee was dismayed with the remarks and Jeong Woo tried to salvage the situation by being the peacemaker. Hae Joo brought some potatoes to Jeong Woo in exchange for some flour. Jeong Woo mentioned that Hae Joo looks like Yoo Jin (his niece). To that, Bong Hee urged him to get married and give birth to a daughter.

Back in the hospital, Geum Hee felt guilty for hitting Hae Joo when she learnt that she saved In Hwa. Do Hyeon decided to throw a party to celebrate all the children that survived and they invited Hae Joo and her family for dinner too. In Hwa went to Kang San grandfather and declared that she will marry Kang San in the future. The elders laughed it off and regarded it as a joke. Kang San resisted and denied that In Hwa 'own' him. Through the dinner, Hae Joo learnt from In Hwa that Kang San grandfather is the president of a big shipbuilding company.

Do Hyeong negotiated with Kang San grandfather (President Park) to give up the pear orchard but he declined and stated that he will not concede. Do Hyeong pressed on and President Park squash the glass of wine on Do Hyeong face and stormed out of the room dragging Kang San away from the dinner. Do Hyeong looked in the mirror clenching his teeth in anger.

Over at the dinner, Geum Hee praised Hae Joo and her mother was unhappy. She called Hae Joo a wench in front of everyone and insisted that she piggyback Young Joo to sleep. Chang Hee defended Hae Joo but was told to stay out of their business. In Hwa added that Hae Joo brought the same thing to school everyday and wondered is she Hae Joo stepmother. Butler Park hastily stopped her to the surprised of everyone, especially Il Moon who never see him speak up before. Hae Joo parents quarrelled in front of everyone and the dinner became awkward.

Butler Park dragged Hae Joo father (sergeant Chung) whom he addresses to a corner and asked him why did he bring his family here. Hae Joo father asked is In Hwa and Hae Joo twins sisters since they were of the same age. He demanded an explanation regarding this matter when Chang Hee cuts in and said that Hae Joo mother is leaving and they did not bring Hae Joo along.

Geum Hee brought a dress for Hae Joo to apologize for hitting her. Delighted, Hae Joo requested to try on the dress. She asked Geum Hee to zip the dress for her. She turned around and showed the scar at the back of the neck. Unfortunately, Hae Joo dad came it at the time and Geum Hee did not notice the scar. Back at home, Hae Joo mum insisted that Hae Joo take out the dress and she is going to sell it away. Hae Joo father plead with his resentful wife to push all the blame to him and not to let Hae Joo suffer anymore as he broke down in tears.

Unable to hide his guilt towards Hae Joo anymore, her father took the clothing of Hae Joo when she was a baby and went to Do Hyeon company to verify. In the office, Do Hyeon was persuading Jeong Woo to give up the pear orchard and not to work for President Park (Kang San grandfather). Jeong Woo refused and claimed that the pear orchard was handed out by his brother. Do Hyeon insisted that he wants to build a shipyard there as it was his and his brother dream, but Jeong Woo would have none of this. He knew of the evil deed he did to his brother.

Hae Joo dad met up with Do Hyeon and mentioned about the baby that was lost in the ocean. He laid down the baby clothes on the table and asked Do Hyeon if he remembers this clothes. Do Hyeon replied that this is the first time he see this clothes and insisted that Yoo Jin had already died. After Hae Joo dad left in disappointment, Do Hyeon looked for bulter Park at the pear orchard and drove him to the seaside. He questioned bulter Park about the identity of Hae Joo dad and mentioned that he came to find him regarding Yoo Jin.

Butler Park was surprised and Do Hyeon asked if the child is still alive. Do Hyeon hit butler Park and forced a confession from him by drowning his head into the sea. However, he denied that Yoo Jin was still alive. Instead, he was quick to give an excuse that it was difficult to kill a baby so he need to get Sergent Chung (Hae Joo dad) to help him. Now he was in debt and decided to use the clothes to extort money from him. Do Hyeon believed him and ordered butler Park to bring Hae Joo dad to him.

Bong Hee visited her elder sister house who happened to be Geum Hee. She urged Bong Hee to look for a partner and settle down. After school, Kang San looked for Chang Hee and they met Hae Joo who had been waiting for Kang San. She said that she had something to say to Kang san and dragged him away in front of Chang Hee who look sad. Kang San was delighted tha Hae Joo whom he called 'tinker' had looked for him first. Actually, Hae Joo wanted him to bring her to the shipyard for a tour since he is the grandson of the shipyard owner.

While they were touring the shipyard, Hae Joo discovered that Kang San has a phobia of height. She dragged Kang San upstairs to have a better view of the shipyard and he unwillingly followed. Hae Joo teased him for having a phobia of fire and height. They toured the shipyard and Kang San had a bit of knowledge of how the shipyard operates to Hae Joo surprise. Kang San make a deal with Hae Joo, he will show her all the things about the shipyard in exchange Hae Joo must teach him welding. Kang San was excited to start welding now, but Hae Joo said that she need to cook dinner at home. Kang San responded, "why do you need to cook? the rice cooker does that."

Hae Joo rushed home and found his father debt collectors at her house. She hurriedly hide behind the brushes and tried to escape, but her action alerted one of the debt collector. Bulter Park met Hae Joo dad at the top of the cliff. Hae Joo dad apologized for meeting the president and he will give up trying to find Hae Joo parents again as he had regarded Hae Joo as his daughter. He stood at the edge of the cliff and bulter Park mustered up his courage and intended to push Hae Joo dad down the cliff from the back. His action was interrupted when Hae Joo witnessed the act and called out, "Ahjusshi" Bulter Park turned around and was startled to saw Hae Joo.

Review

It was getting a bit tiring to see the tragedy repeating itself over and over again. Something that the writer should minimize. Hae Joo goodie two shoes image was getting a little irritating now. Until now, she has being the almost 'perfect' person in this drama. I understand that this is a drama and the writer have to create certain plots for character development.

There was a lot of crying scenes in this episode and a lot of heartrending moments between Hae Joo and her dad which i thought was a little excessive. I felt that this episode was stretched a bit longer and it was beating around the brush to get to certain point. For instance, Hae Joo dad keep suspecting that Hae Joo was the missing child and it took him a long time to decide to confront president Do Hyeon, Bulter park being beaten up again and Hae Joo step mother repeatedly emotional abused against Hae Joo. It was a bit boring and the whole plot turned into a merry-go-round.

Despite the down side of this episode, i still believed that the drama will do well as times go by since we have a 32 episodes to cover. I just hope that the drama will pace itself faster and develop better ideas to deliver the plots. There was some new discovery in this episode, in particular In Hwa character. I did not expect her to confess to her wrong doings at the hospital. This shows that she is just a harmless spoilt brat, unlike her brother who is a rotten potato.
I also enjoyed the interaction between Chang Hee and Hae Joo despite the cheesy lines that they shared. I like it that Hae Joo keep calling Chang Hee 'oppa'. On the other hand, Hae Joo rapport with Kang San was pretty interesting too. The tinker and liar nicknames that they gave each other and all the teasing was rather cute.

May Queen Episode 4

Summary:

The children were frantically throwing water out of the boat, except for In Hwa who was overly concerned over her dress. Meanwhile, Hae Joo dad came back to the yacht after fetching the component and was shocked to see the boat missing. Puzzled over who drove the yacht, his co worker brushes off that perhaps somebody drove the yacht and Hae Joo may had went home already. Unknown to him, the children were struggling to keep the yacht from sinking. Hae Joo suggested using the radio system in the yacht to communicate, unfortunately it was not working. Hae Joo dad went home to look for her but could not find her, he became worried. On the other hand, In Hwa was missing too.

Things turned for the worse at the boat, they were wearing life jackets and In Hwa complained that she does not know how to life jacket. In an attempt to save Chang Hee from the tools tumbling down from the top, Kang San was injured on the leg. Having no other choice, they jumped out of the boat and watched as the boat sunk into the water. It was late at night, Hae Joo dad went back to the shipyard to look for Hae Joo, instead he found her bag. It was known that all the children had board the boat and soon the shipyard was filled with agony cries of the victims families. In the ocean, Chang Hee asked Hae Joo, "are you scared?" Hae Joo replied,"I am scared, but we still need to survive." Whereas, In Hwa kept whining that they will die.

Coast guards was called in assist in the rescued, while the children stayed floated in the ocean hanging on to their dear life. Kang San grandfather (shipbuilding owner) came to investigate and gathered all resources to carry out the rescue operation. The children tried to waved at the rescue ship when Hae Joo discovered the lights shinning on the surface of the water, however nobody saw them. It started to rained and it was getter colder in the water, In Hwa was still whining to everyone. They continued to stayed in the water until the next day morning. Kang San felt dizzy because of the injuries at his leg and was exhausted. There was a false alarm when In Hwa thought that a sharking is coming, instead they saw a whale.

In Hwa drank the ocean water and passed out, Chang Hee and Hae Joo rescued her and place her on top of the square raft. After that, Hae Joo fainted and Chang Hee came to her rescue. Thus, they were separated from In Hwa and Kang San. The recuse team found part of the yacht that had submerged into the water. All their hope had diminished at the sight of the broken parts. Soon, their hope was lifted up again when they heard that two children were found in the ocean. To the dismay of the presidents, it was Hae Joo and Chang Hee. In order to find out the location of the other missing children, they were refrained from turning the boat back and send the children to the hospital. Hae Joo dad almost blurted out that Hae Joo was his missing daughter but was stopped by Butler Park just in time. Just then, Hae Joo woke up and suggested that In Hwa may be swept to the south-eastern side of the harbor due to the high tide. True enough, they found In Hwa and kang San and they were immediately rushed to the hospital. However, both presidents will not let the matter rest until they found out who was the one that drove the boat.

Kang San grandfather overheard that Hae Joo was the driver of the boat and was extremely angry with them. Both Hae Joo and Her dad had a heartwarming conversation and Hae Joo mentioned that she wants to make money to buy a yacht for her dad in the future and she was sorry for driving the boat to the ocean. On the other hand, Chang Hee also had some touching moment with his dad at his ward.

Next, we saw an attractive lady at the airport and a pervert following close behind her, She hit the prevent publicly and was questioned by the police. It was revealed later that she is Dr Lee Bong Hee, Jeong Woo friend and a PHD in petrochemical. She was an interesting character as we found out that she practically tasted the crude oil to find out the elements contained in the oil instead of going to the laboratory.

At the Pear Ochard, the soil was polluted and Jung Woo heard that the pear orchard owner intended to sell the land. In the hospital ward, Kang San just had a leg surgery and had woke up. He asked about Chang Hee and Hae Joo and his grandfather assured him that they were fine. Hae Joo was discharged from the hospital and she requested to visit In Hwa. Hae Joo went to In Hwa mum and confessed that she drove the yacht. In Hwa Mum slapped her on face and scolded her. Hae Joo dad saw everything and was heart broken.

Chang Hee went to visit Kang San and thank him for saving him at the boat. They became friends and Chang Hee mentioned that he is unlike Il Moon and Kang San teased him for being blind all the while. Chang Hee looked for Hae Joo and noticed her face was slightly red and swollen. He immediately knew that In Hwa mum slapped her and he intend to help her clarify the matter. Hae Joo gently brush off the matter as she mentioned that they were pitiful and it doesn't matter that she was wronged.

Back at home, Hae Joo was asked to rest at her elder brother Park Tae room. She overheard the conversion between her parents and was hurt to know that she was not her mother daughter. Hae Joo asked her dad, "who is my real mother?"

Review

I know that the children will survive this ordeal, but i am more interested to know about the changes which will mold the characters through this accident. I am glad that Chang Hee and Kang San became friends after Kang San saved his life. In Hwa was still so irritating with all the whining and complaining. She was the main cause of this huge mess and she keep making lots of noises, really a turn off character for me. Kudos to the child actors and actresses, they were making the drama so touching and engaging right from the start.

I was moved by child actress who played Hae Joo character. Especially the last scene when Hae Joo overheard her parents conversation. The heart breaking moment when she asked her dad, "who is my real mother?" I wondered how her dad will respond to her. I had a feeling that Hae Joo character is like an ugly duckling that will eventually become a beautiful swan.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop Episode 4

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop > Episode 4

Chi Soo drives off in his car as he recalls what he saw at the ramyun shop: Eun Bi crying alone, resembled another person, his mother who used to cry alone at the bedroom holding a photograph. He makes a u-turn and heads back to the ramyun shop again. However, this time round, he sees Eun Bi holding a man. Chi Soo becomes upset, he turns away, using a handkerchief to wipe his hands before throwing it on the floor.
The next day, he looks up for Hyun-woo, his good friend and asks him if the intern teacher (Eun Bi) is married. Hyun-woo replies with a no, and to his knowledge she does not even have a boyfriend. Chi Soo persistently asks Hyun-Woo, who the man present at her funeral was and what does he think about the relationship between the two. Hyun-Woo replies, “instead of thinking whether they are in a relationship, don’t you think that he is just comforting her?” Chi Soo parrots in astonishment, “Comfort?”, not understanding.

The next scene brings us back to Eun Bi's home. She is talking to her friend on the phone, assuring her friend that she is fine. She was told to go to the principal office and write a report about that incident. So she prepares and gets ready to go to school, just as she is about the leave she sees another toothbrush in the washroom.
At the same time Chi Soo is getting ready to go to school as well. He dresses and puts on some cologne. In the living room, Chi Soo's dad is discussing some business plan with his assistant when Chi Soo interrupts, asking, “by any chance, do you know something about comforting others? For example, when somebody has passed away?” His father's assistant suggests, “you can give money or flowers.” Chi Soo further asks, “Is there something warmer such as an action or words?” And the reply he gets is, “You can doubled the money and give more flowers.” Satisfied with the answer, Chi Soo heads to school.

Eun Bi steps out of the house, not noticing somebody was sleeping under the stairs. Once at the doorstep, she finds a sock and she smells it, feeling nostalgic as she thinks that it belonged to her father and heads out. When she leaves, the owner of the sock, who was sleeping at Eun Bi house wakes from his sleep and looks at a photograph of Eun Bi. Once outside, Eun Bi finds a handkerchief (the one that Chi Soo threw).

Chi Soo walks out from the office  and uses his handkerchief to wipe off the side of the lips of the manager, saying that her lips were stained and walks away after that. Meanwhile Eun Bi holds the sock and handkercief in each of her hans in deep thought.

Eun Bi is at a café preparing herself to apologize to Chi Soo. Just as she places the intern badge she sees So Yi who apologizes to Eun Bi on Chi Soo behalf. Eun Bi does not understand why she needs to apologize to her. Rather Eun Bi feels thatd So Yi should apologize to Ba Wool for hurting him instead. Both of them start off on the wrong foot, which ends up with So Yi ended up asking Eun Bi to apologize to Chi Soo politely.
In the classroom, Chi Soo asks Hyun Woo to write the word - condolence - on the letter. After that he seals off the envelope happily and heads to look for Eun Bi. Meanwhile, Eun Bi is at the principal's office where she is coerced to agree the terms of the contract which is to apologize to Chi Soo for embarrassing him. When she leaves, she meets Chi Soo in the corridor. The principal urges Eun Bi to apologize to him, and excuses himself.
Before Eun Bi can open her mouth to apologize, Chi Soo shoves her the envelope. When Eun Bi opens the envelope, she is shocked to see so much money. She asks Chi Soo what is this and he replies, “Condolence money, well think of it as employee benefit since your dad died so you keep the money.” Eun Bi returns the envelope to Chi Soo, which puzzles him as he thought he was comforting her. He mistakenly thinks that she thinks the money is not enought and offers her more money. This greatly displeases and insults Eun Bi.
She tosses the money in the air and slaps Chi Soo in the face with the envelope. By this time there is a crowd gathered around the corridor. She tells Chi Soo that he should have used the term "passed away" to describe the decrease instead of "died". She storms off, but Chi Soo stops her demanding that she apologize or else she will be fired. Not to be threatened by Chi Soo, Eun Bi takes off the intern badge and says she will not be fired, she will quit. Not understanding why his good intention was rejected, Chi Soo demands to know what had he done wrong to be hit by her. Eun Bi approaches him and says, “Do you think I am going to tell you the reason? You will die with curiosity, since you do not even know what is right and wrong”.
Satisfied, she walks off but suddenly turns around and points at Chi Soo, “You stink – the mole attached to your face.” (referring to the black ink on his face). She steps out the school gates feeling very cool teaching the "brat" a lesson. But her happiness is short lived as reality starts to sink in: she lost her job, how is she going to support herself from now on? She confides in Dong Joo over some chicken feet and Dong Joo rubs the salt into Eun Bi's wound by telling her she should have apologized properly at the first place. Now that she has quit (fired), she will not be accepted by other schools. Chi Soo's dad is relieved to be told that the scar will heal after some treatment. He tells Chi Soo that scars left by a woman can last forever. By now, Chi Soo is fuming and still sore from the incident incident, wanting revenge.

Eun Bi tries looking for a job as a tuition teacher, so she starts to paste advertisements all over the street discreetly. She gets a phone call from Chi Soo's dad inviting her to his house. Eun Bi is surprised at the offer to return to school and he will just say to Chi Soo that she had apologized. Eun Bi declines the offer as she thinks that Chi Soo wants her to go back fire her personally. She offers to pay for the tea cup that she had accidentally dropped, but is shocked that it cost so much. Chi Soo dad's emphasized that everything in the house can be broken, except Chi Soo.

While in the lift, Eun Bi regrets rejecting the offer from Director Cha, and that she should have accepted the money as compensation too. The lift stops and the two lady employees enter. One of them is holding the handkerchief that Chi Soo gave her in morning. Chi Soo is surprised that Eun Bi had rejected the offer, demanding that his dad think of a way.
The camera zooms out and we see Chi Soo using his handphone in the classroom during lesson time. So Yi is disappointed that she was not selected to go for a competition so she calls Ba Wool. Ba Wool receives the phone call from So Yi just when he is about to burn the pictures of her, but he answers the call anyways. He gets even more angry when So Yi says that she called him to pick her from school because she could not reach Chi Soo, who at this point is driving his car looking for Eun Bi.

Eun Bi is eating instant noodles outside the convenience store when she was confronted by a group of thugs. Chi Soo finding Eun Bi and thinking to "rescue" her, throws a packet of imported cigarettes. The thugs  delighted with the "present", leave Eun Bi alone. Chi Soo is pleased with himself and expects Eun Bi to thank him. However, Eun Bi wonders why he did that and even gives chase, which ends up n her getting chased by the thugs and she finally hops into Chi Soo's car.

Chi Soo wonders why did Eun Bi get herself into trouble when she can end it with a box of cigarettes. Eun Bi tells Chi Soo that high school students should not smoke and it is wrong to give the box of cigarettes to them. She  goes on to tell him that  true condolence comes from the heart, it is not about the money and also he should not fool around with people feelings. That is the reason he got hit. Chi Soo says that so it was Eun Bi the woman that taught him a lesson and not the intern. He leans in close to Eun Bi and tells her that she is trying him out because she saw him as a man.
However, Eun Bi responds, “You really stink, don’t use the cologne you are wearing and never use those awful pick-up lines again.” He questions Eun Bi about the other guy he saw at the ramyun store that day, asking whether it is because she has a man and she could give up on this job. Eun Bi has no recollection of what he is saying, but she tells Chi Soo that even if there is a man, he is better than a high school student that only smells of perfume. With that she alights the car and Chi Soo drives off frustrated.

Chi Soo goes to meet So Yi, picking her up. He asks So Yi if his cologne smells bad and she says no. When So Yi reaches home, Ba Wool is waiting for her. Eun Bi cannot find the keys to open her home door, it was actually left in Chi Soo's car. Eun Bi is surprised that the door opens and there even food on the table. Thinking that her friend had prepared the food, so called her nly to realise that it was not prepared by her. Her friend warns her not to eat the food but Eun is too hungry to bother anymore, stuffing the food down her throat, not realzing that the food was prepared by her mysterious guest.
Finding the keys in his car, Chi Soo asks Hyun Woo to return it to Eun Bi, but decides to do it himself when Hyun Woo says that he can only do it after work which ends late. After the meal, Eun Bi sleeps soundly, when she gets covered with a blanket by her "guest". It is at this juncture that Chi Soo arrives and sees them. He asks where the intern is and the man replied, “My wife is sleeping.” Chi Soo is in disbelief and says that Eun Bi should better come to her senses or else she will never be a teacher in Korea. The man leans closely to smell Chi Soo and he said, “Pathetic kid, you have no scent, even an onion have a scent. You don’t have a scent of home or a mum scent.” He continues by asking, “Park Chi Soo, do you even eat?” Chi Soo is angry and emphasizes that his name is CHA Chi Soo, not Park Chi Soo.

Comments
A funny episode which relates to the theme: The scent of a man. A clever illusration of an onion to a man with no scent (Chi Soo). I pitied Chi Soo in this episode because he is empty inside his heart. He does not have family warmth. It was so surprising that Director Cha uses the office as their home. Imagine your living room is a place to work and have meetings with your subordinates? It was ridiculous. Eun Bi as usual rocks! She dares to follow her heart and her principles of right and wrong. She did not bow down to pressure although we know that she was struggling in her heart to just apologize to a brat to secure her job. Even when Director Cha uses money and benefits to make her accept the offer but she rejected the offer.

Director Cha is a loving father when he mentioned that everything can break except Chi Soo. I can understand that he wanted to protect his son but he does not understand that his method is wrong. He never gave a personal touch in Chi Soo life. That is why Chi Soo is empty inside. He had “no scent” as a person. He does not even know how to express his thoughts and feelings or should I say he never come across “feelings” as in really understand how he or others feels. Especially the incident about the condolence which he sincerely wanted to express to Eun Bi but it turned out differently as his action and words only added fury to her.

It was interesting that Chi Soo had to ask the employees in the company and director Cha what to do in this type of situation when he wanted to send his condolence to Eun Bi and the reply that the employee gave. Everything is about money and nothing comes from the heart.

So Yi is still stepping on two boats at a time. He still hangs on to both guys which make me kind of frustrated. Can’t she treasure Bu Wool who treated her so much better that Chi Soo?

Last but not least, is the man really Eun Bi husband?

My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox >> Episode 4 [Watch it]

Realizing that she has been left behind, stranded on the boat on water, Mi-ho cries out to Dae-woong not to leave her. Although he hears hear, Dae-woong runs without looking back, feeling guilty with each step that he takes. Soon, Mi-ho starts to cry, and the sky as if in response to her crying, darkens and starts to rain.

As it starts to rain, Dae-woong remembers what Mi-ho said about her tears causing fox rain. The thought makes him stop and want to turn back. However, he stops himself and tries to reason with himself that that is is ridiculous. He continues on, but when he remembers that she declared that they are now friends, and that he promised to protect her fox bead, he whines that she's using her tears (rain) to hold onto him. Nonetheless, he turns back and runs to her.

Meanwhile, Mi-ho starts to lose control of her appearance as her fox bead is far away from her, her far of the water and being stranded on the boat does not help. When a dog comes close, her eyes start to turn blue. To hide her appearance, she dashes into the bathroom and hides as her other foxy features start to appear.

When Dae-woong finally reaches the boat when it docks, as he boards the boat, he overhears the family with the dog that there was a strange woman who looked like a monster. Bracing himself, he actually mistakes a dog with a fluffy tail for Mi-ho. He eventually finds her hiding in the bathroom. Mi-ho is glad that Dae-woong has returned for her, but she does not want to open the door as her appearance is changing. She is afraid she will scare Dae-woong. He insists that it is ok and that he won't be shocked as he has seen her tails enough times to prepare himself.

As she opens the door, Dae-woong cannot hide his shock at hear appearance (blue eyes and fur). He quickly grabs a tablecloth nearby and drapes it over her, and dashes off the boat. When they are land, Mi-ho asks him why he left her on the boat. Dae-woong feels guilty but lies that it was not him that left her, but that the boat had left him. Her blue eyes light up in glee as she picks up on the fact that Dae-woong came back because it started to rain.

Following right behind them is the boat attendant who is out to get his tablecloth back. As the attendant pulls the tablecloth off Mi-ho, Dae-woong draws her into a hug, which results in them being in a time-suspended mystical hug moment.

Mi-ho beams as she soon returns to human form. Thy smile at each other. Thinking that it is ok to go, Dae-wong starts to leave, but Mi-ho grabs his jacket and pulls him in for another hug, claiming that she needs to be close to her fox bead for a little longer.

Dae-woong is initially taken aback, but soon finds himself tentatively happy, as he gives in embraces her for a little longer. After a while, he awkwardly asks if that’s long enough, but she’ says she needs a little while longer, so he continues to hug her and pets her hair as she sighs blissfully, grinning away.

Meanwhile, the Gumiho Hunter, Dong-joo, visits the temple where Mi-ho was imprisoned, and tells the monk that the fox will be put back in her rightful place.

Happy to support the new and improved grandson of his, that is now willing to live for others instead of purely himself Dae-woong's Grandpa packs up his belongings and sends Aunt Min-sook to deliver them. Aunt Min-sook waits outside the action school, and ends up falling asleep on the bench. The "Chow Yun-fat" look-a-like discovers her napping. He rushes over, and opens up his trench coat to shield her from the sun. He remains in the same position until he’s sweating from head to toe, and she’s none the wiser. Later that night, he waits to catch anotherr glimpse of the mysterious girl who can jump without wires, but to no avail.

When it is dinner time, Mi-ho complains that dinner is chicken again. Dae-woong retorts that under their current circumstances, it would be shameless for her to ask for cow. She points out that she can be as shameless as she wants since she’s not human.

He laments that he cannot afford cow at the moment as his dreams to be an action star were shattered. Not understanding, Mi-ho asks what an action star is, and he says it’s something that he is really good at. Mi-ho answers: “Running away?” Dae-woong insists that although she might see him as a weak human, to other normal girls, he’s reallt great. Haring that Mi-ho adds with a thumbs-up that even she thinks he’s pretty cool.

Goaded by her reaction, he gives her a demonstration of his action skills, in an imaginary sword-fight scene. Mi-ho delights in the demonstration, while Dae-woong gets to show off. Mi-ho starts to copy all of his sayings and gestures, which amuses Dae-woong. He kicks a brick wall, and she follows suit... However she kicks it with so much force that it almost crumbles.

The director with the Chow Yun-fat demour happens to head that way to relieve himself,. They run and hide when he approaches their direction. They run and hide, and watch in horror (with Dae-woong covering Mi-ho’s eyes) as he starts to urinate on that very spot. The mere force of him urinating is just enough to send the wall crashing down, and on the other side is a very surprised lady.
He gets hauled away to the police station, where the cop accuses him of being a trench coat-pervert. The producer insists he’s nothing of the sort, and insists that he was just urinating: “And it wasn’t even pee that I was holding. It was of the normal variety.”

At the police station, Dae-woong comes to his defense, vouching as an eye-witness that all he did was pee. Being at the police station voching for the director, gives Dae-woong the opportunity introduce himself as Sun-nyeo’s friend. Upon hearing that he is his daughter's friend, the director is happy to give him another chance at his audition, as long as the night’s events are kept a secret.
When Dae-woong comes out of the police station, he finds Mi-ho digging in the trash, with a rib bone in her mouth. Realizing that she’s looking a bit worse for wear, he takes her shopping for necessities such as toiletries and clothes.

Bavk home, he tries to teach her how to brush her teeth and wash up,. But she ends up eating most of the the cleaning products, to his dismay. Mi-ho exclaims that she is happy because of him. However, he breaks her happy reverie by asking when she’s going to take back her fox bead. She gives the excuse that she’s too tired to eat and goes to bed.
Dong-joo sits in his room and says that he doesn’t want to have to send Mi-ho back. He’d rather she went quietly, but he knows she’s not about to give in so easily.
While Dae-woong is asleep, Mi-ho checks on her fox bead, and realizes that he’s almost healed. She sighs to herself that if she told him the truth, he would send her away instantly. She wonders why she can’t just stay by his side, killing the mosquitoes for him while he sleeps, and comes to the realization that she’s not human.

The next day, Mi-ho proclaims that she is not going to follow Dae-woong around, so that he can do well on his audition without any trouble. He is surprised. He doesn’t quite believe her at first, so he keeps coming back to give her money for food, then to tell her not to dig in the trash, and to call him if anything happens.

Although Dae-woong finally leaves, he feels uneasy about her staying behind. He finds it a little strange without her following right behind him. When she comes out and waves at him from the rooftop, he stops himself from waving back, saying that he has to stop growing attached to her.
So Mi-ho spends the day digging through trash cans to find chicken coupons with the belief that if she is able to collect all tem, it would turn into a chicken. She even fights with the neighborhood ajumma for the last one.

Dong-joo finds her, and takes her for a drive. Mi-ho is amazed to find that even though he is no human, he has an ID, a social security number, and a cell phone.

Dae-woong does well on his audition, and gets cast right away. Hye-in runs into him, and asks to have a congratulatory dinner together. He promised Mi-ho he would return and treat her to cow, so he uses Grandpa as an excuse. She concedes that family is a good enough excuse and lets him go.

Meanwhile, Dong-joo takes Mi-ho to his apartment, where she is amazed and marvels at his life as a human. He explains that he moves from place to place every few years, changing his name and never getting too close to anyone. He has been living this way far longer than she has being trapped in that painting. She wants him to teach her how to pass for human too. But Dong-joo tells her that by living his way, she cannot be close to humans: she’ll never have friends, or family, or love. He continues, “The way I’m living…it’s not that different from being trapped in that painting. You should return.” She hangs her head in disappointment, saying that she really, really doesn’t want to go back. Dong-joo throws down the gauntlet: “Then are you willing to die?”

Having said that, Dong-joo takes out his magical knife, and cuts his hand. He lets his blood drip into a glass, and tells her that the knife and/or his blood can kill her. If she drinks it his blood, while she has her fox bead collect the ki of a human being for one hundred days, she’ll become human. She asks why he is telling her all this and he replies that it’s because of another girl who looked like her, and wanted the same thing. He’ll help her die, but wonders if Cha Dae-woong can be trusted to protect her fox bead for a hundred days.

He reminds her again that humans cannot be trusted, and insists she forget it all and go back. Mi-ho leaves, the question hanging over her. while she holds a vial of Dong-joo’s blood in her hand. As she watches people on the street below her she thinks to herself: “Does dying mean disappearing? I just want to live down there.”

On her way home, she gets recognized by the director. He chases her but cannot catch up with her. Hye-in sees this from afar, and realized that nott only does Mi-ho have Dae-woong’s affections, but now she’s got the Director’s too, for that coveted lead role.
Hye-in decides to call Dae-woong to discuss it, but she catches him in a lie as he nears home with a bundle of meat in his hands. They find a place to sit down to talk. Hye-in asks if he likes her, and says in a roundabout way that she’s been waiting for him to declare his feelings, and preparing her answer. She tells him that she’s losing her faith in him, and wavering in her feelings, and not to make her wait too long.

After the conversation, Dae-woong drowns his angst in soju. Mi-ho eagerly awaits his return and leaves him a voicemail, telling him that she has something important to ask him. She asks if she can stay by his side longer. She smells his scent as he approaches, and runs to find him in the gym. She comes upon him slumped over in the dark. He announces that he’s drunk. He drunkenly pleads with her to go away and stop making his life so difficult, as he slumps to the ground and passes out. Her reaction is heartbreaking as she looks down at him and says that she will leave. She lets go of his hand.

The next morning when Dae-woong wakes up in his bed, not knowing how he got there. He calls out to Mi-ho, but she’s nowhere to be found. He looks around and ponders for a while before he comes to the realization that she's gone!
