Ella and her husband, Alvin Lai went through the traditional rituals in the morning before the engagement banquet in the afternoon. Ella offered tea to her in-laws and in return, received a red packet to signify the completion of the ceremony.
After the engagement banquet ended at night, the newlyweds hurried to their new home in Taipei, probing the media to question if the pair had enjoyed their nuptial night.

Through her record company, H.I.M. International, Ella revealed that she was delighted but tired over the engagement dinner. The singer explained, "I woke up at 6am and I was very tired (after the dinner)! After going through the wedding gifts, (we) went straight to bed."

The singer also added that she had a good night sleep, hinting at details on her nuptial night. Ella had also expressed her wish that her subsequent banquets at Taipei and Malaysia will turn out to be successful as well.

TAIPEI: Taiwan pop trio S.H.E.'s Ella Chen announced over her micro blog on Thursday that she will marry her Malaysian boyfriend Alvin Lai this year.  "Holding hands, treasuring the present, I am very happy! Yes, I ... am finally getting married.

"The marriage rumours have been around for some time, I am very thankful for everyone's concern. Here, I'd like to announce and share the good news," gushed Chen in a post on her micro blog.

S.H.E member Selina Jen returned to work recently, after she was badly scarred in an on-set accident two years ago. Last week, the starlet joined her fellow members Hebe Tien and Ella Chen in a photo shoot for a shoe brand.

Yesterday, the trio reunited again, for the spring/summer collection of a women's clothing brand, which they had endorsed for the last five years. As Selina was unable to stand for long hours, the photo shoot was completed within five hours.

On the day of the shoot, Selina had two costume changes. When she wore had to wear short skirts, the singer wore an extra pair of leggings to hide the scars on her legs. The production crew also called for short three-minute breaks during the shoot, so that it would not be so taxing on Selina.

Selina Jen counts down to her wedding

Her fiancee Richard Chang revealed that wedding is estimated to be 86 days away. According to the Taiwanese media, S.H.E. member Selina Jen's wedding date has yet to be decided.

Previously, it was rumoured that Selina and her fiancé Richard Chang would be announcing the date of their wedding on Aug 5. However, Richard revealed that Selina had not made her final decision, and that they would only announce the date next week.

Richard did let on that the big day is estimated to be 86 days away. This would mean that the wedding would either be on Oct 31 (Selina's birthday) or Nov 1 (Richard's birthday). The wedding is set to be held at the Sheraton Hotel.

The invitation card had been designed -- pink, simple with no wedding photos on it. The banquet, which was to have 90 tables initially, has now been increased 100 tables in total. Doctors, nurses and therapist from the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital are all invited.

Selina would also be reshooting her wedding photos, because she looked different after her accident last October. The starlet was severely burnt after an on-set accident.

Richard revealed that the couple had decided not to celebrate the Chinese Valentines' Day and would not give any presents to each other, so as to avoid having to recall old memories.

"Selina's father did not specially celebrate his birthday a few days ago because he is worried that she might recall the happy memories from last year's celebration," the lawyer added.

Richard expressed that he had not lived a happy day since Selina was scarred by the fire. He had to stay strong for her and accompany her through her physiotherapy sessions.

Selina recently broke into tears and hugged fiancé Richard Chang when she was told of I Have a Date with Spring director Chen Ming Zhang's letter of apology.

The director, however, is not ready to face the media yet. While directing his new drama Drunken to Love You, which features Joseph Chang and Tiffany Hsu, he was not seen anywhere on-set. He was suspected of 'directing' the drama in a van.

Selina's father also updated the public on the pop star's condition.

"The nurse helped Selina to change her dressing and helped her put on tights patiently. Although there were a few blisters, but the redness of the skin had gradually turned dry after the skin grafting operation," wrote Father Jen.

With Selina still in the hospital, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that S.H.E's activities have been affected. Though Selina has been in the hospital for around 40 days and has slowly been recovering, she will not be able to get straight back to work. With last half of this year originally planned for their individual work, this incident has not affected the group's plans too greatly.

However, the two planned Mainland concerts in Shanxi and Hangzhou for February and March of next year have been canceled losing S.H.E around $6,000,000 TWD. Advertisements and commercials that have been renewed will only be featuring Hebe and Ella. In addition, they had originally planned to release their next group album during summer of next year. Since Selina will most likely not be able to do any recordings for a while, the album has been postponed.

According to their record company, there is no telling whether Selina will be able to return home by next year's Spring Festival. While her first three skin grafts went well, there is still much more to go, including training her facial muscles. Taiwan pop trio S.H.E's Selina Jen addressed the media for the first time on Thursday via an audio recording, since being hospitalized 42 days ago for the severe burns she suffered during a filming accident, reported Taiwan media.

Prior to this message, Jen's father and fiance Richard Chang had always responded to media queries on her behalf.

"Hi, it really is me. Now that I have been taken off the morphine (a narcotic that acts as a strong painkiller), I am more lucid, can use the phone and speak to people normally.

According to a statement from Jen's record label HiM International Music, doctors say that the 29-year-old singer's rate of recovery is "better than expected", with new skin growth observed on the site of her burns.

The statement also said that Jen has been doing exercises to help train her facial muscles and had been advised by doctors to drink more milk to help her skin heal.

Jen suffered severe third-degree burns to 41 per cent of her body in October when the explosives put in place for an explosion scene in Jen's new drama "I Have A Date With Spring" detonated prematurely.
